  Seems odd to review playing fields, but this location is great for people taking their dog for a walk. It is fairly enclosed, although the top end has no fencing along Hewett Avenue, and the car park is open to the entrance road (as you would expect). There are 4 or 5 football pitches, and also smaller training areas. The pitches are often used when other local pitches have been flooded, although the whole area can get quite muddy. The pavillion is a complete mess which needs some major work. There is an enclosed playing area with climbing frame/zip wire/swings etc. Also a small wooded area in which it is fairly safe to let your dog run through, as I believe all the houses have good fencing.
  Be it a good thing, or a bad thing, there are plans to build a school on the grounds.
  ***This is the reason for the pavilion being in such a bad state/closed, as the council have refused for the planned renovation to take place until the plans for the school are known.
  If it goes ahead, there will be huge disruption draining the vast majority of any funds promised, just to provide the existing facilities (on the reduced area, sadly cutting down the iconic Poplar trees). I can only hope that the community will still be able to roam across the playing fields, although we will certainly lose access to a large area including the main football pitch, and the proposed all-weather area (that is of no use to the football club due to specification)
  I have major concerns about safety, access, reduced parking and increased traffic.
